Many people are constrained in their lives and relationships as a result of the meanings they make of their life experiences. I see therapy as an opportunity for people to tell their stories in the safety of a non-judgmental therapeutic environment. In the therapeutic relationship, I am a process consultant who understands that the client is the expert in their own lives and encourage the client’s active participation in the therapeutic process. I am intentional about demonstrating cultural humility in my therapeutic relationships by allowing my clients to express their cultural experiences and teach me their cultural nuances.
